Not so good news from The Recorder:
"Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman may eliminate staff positions now that the deadline for a voluntary departure plan has passed.
"Some 37 staff members, including the firm’s director of attorney recruiting, have taken advantage of the plan, Chief Human Resources Officer Deborah Johnson said Wednesday. She declined to detail how many in management were participating in the offer, saying it attracted people at all levels.
"Johnson says that during a firmwide teleconference Wednesday, Vice Chair Stephen Huttler announced, ‘We are continuing to look at our staffing levels to make sure they are in alignment with the attorneys we have. We will be making decisions about whether we need to eliminate additional staff positions within the next month.’"
