Not sure the "end of the paper chase" will ever occur, but it is getting closer:
"Sarah Borders is not a fan of paper — at least not reams and reams and reams of it. The leader of the Financial Restructuring Group at King & Spalding helps her clients buy and sell distressed assets, which is document-intensive work. These days, though, she never has to worry about getting a paper cut. That’s because the Atlanta-based firm uses AMS Collaborator, an extranet program from Portland, Ore.-based AMS-Legal.
"King & Spalding’s extranet product specialist, Zach Wood, says the firm has created 127 extranets since August 2004 and is developing five to 10 new sites per month. Through them, the firm’s lawyers and paralegals in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., New York City, Houston and London are connected online."
