“This paralegal outsourced herself — and turned it into a business”

"Nicole Grant is a paralegal, but now that she runs her own business, she bills attorneys the way attorneys bill clients.

"Grant, 36, graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and wanted to be a lawyer until she went to work for a law firm after graduating. With just her bachelor’s degree, a Manchester law firm hired her and trained her to do paralegal work. The firm, which focused on real estate law, is no longer around."

"Grant worked for Transamerica Technology for “just short of” three years and then started her business, Paralegal Outsource LLC [site under construction], from her home in late February. Business has been picking up, as in May she started renting space at 937 South Main St., Suite 2, in Plantsville. One of her clients is her landlord, attorney Joseph D. DiMauro. To cope with her growing number of attorney clients, she and DiMauro had new phone lines put in and hired a part-time secretary together about three weeks ago."

Congrats & good luck, Nicole!
