Former inmate now honor paralegal student

Well, this is an encouraging turn of events!

"Today, Raul Lopez will complete the difficult path from inmate to honor student.

"If that’s not enough, the Pima Community College sophomore will become the 2 millionth member of the national junior college honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. Lopez is one of 210 Pima students joining the honor society this semester as the college’s chapter celebrates its 30th anniversary.

"Lopez is a full-time student who commutes to the paralegal studies program at Pima’s Downtown Campus in Tucson. He started college in the fall 2004 semester and has a 3.79 grade-point average."
